When you book with Hitch, just let us know your arrival time and flight number, and we’ll aim to meet you outside the terminal where the taxis are – in our big Hitch van & trailer. Alternatively, call #38 from the freephone located in the i-Site center and one of the team will dispatch a shuttle to collect you. No searching for offices or cars needed, once we collect you out front, you’ll be taken to our branch where your car and keys will be waiting.
Hitch has lower prices than other airport rental car providers, speedy online bookings and an easy-to-use online booking manager. Hitch car rentals provides a choice of modern and attractive cars, from Super Saver low cost options to new 7 seater SUVs and people movers. We offer a free Auckland Airport pickup shuttle, super friendly and efficient service and we are a NZ owned and operated independent company.
While our Hitch HQ at Auckland Airport is open from 8 a.m. to 6 a.m., seven days a week, we can also completely accommodate anyone that needs to pick up their Hitch car outside those hours – although we do charge an extra $35 on top of your booking to cover our costs. In order to confirm an after-hours car pickup, you’ll need to provide your driver’s licence and pay your entire rental costs upfront when booking online, after which we’ll send you detailed and easy-to-follow (even after an international flight!) instructions for picking up your rental car.
To pick up your car after hours, all you’ll need to do is catch the free Auckland Airport Park & Ride (orange-and-black) bus, which runs every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours a day, from outside either Auckland’s Domestic or International terminal. These buses leave from across the road outside Door #7 of the International Terminal, and from outside Door #4 of the Domestic Terminal, and will take you to the Park & Ride Office at the airport car parks, where your car and keys will be waiting. Click here for the International bus stop map and click here for the Domestic.
At the Park & Ride office, simply say that you are picking up a vehicle from Hitch Car Rentals, present your Driver’s Licence, and the attendant will hand over your keys and direct you to your car, which will be ready and waiting in the Park & Ride parking lot. If you experience any issues in this process, you can reach our helpful team after hours on 0800 939 503.
